Below is a letter sent by Ward and Louise....Christmas 2008

Dear Friends and Family,

As some of you know, we moved to Colorado Springs this past summer. We were originally going to move in August, but our buyer wanted to move in sooner so we moved in a hurry! Dave and Sandy came down and helped us with a garage sale and the packing.

We found a nice two bedroom condo only a mile from Dave and Sandy's house. We put things in temporary storage while we stayed with them for about a week. This allowed Dave to go in and paint the condo and get it ready for us to move in. We are pretty well settled in, with only a few boxes yet to unpack!

The kids had a surprise birthday party for my 80th birthday in November! Janet and Carrie came from Utah for a weekend and stayed with Dave and Sandy. While in the area, they looked at some colleges for Carrie. She's not sure where she will go next fall, but it would be nice if she chose Colorado! Pat and Michael were not able to make the trip this time.

Ward is doing pretty well. He does not drive since we moved up here. Colorado Springs is a larger city than Pueblo and a little harder to find his way around, I guess that's just as well. We both have been healthy and quite active since we moved up here, attending a lot of school functions for the grandkids. Speaking of grandkids, they are all growing up so fast.

Steven turned 19 in November and is in the business program at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. He is living with three other fellows he's been buddies with over the past years. He works at the University and also a ski shop in addition to going to school.

Garrett is a 9th grader, plays the trumpet and enjoys marching band and music. He is also a runner in Cross Country and is a good student.

Ryan is a 6th grader in middle school and in his first year of band playing the trumpet. He also plays competitive soccer, enjoys school and is a very active boy.

Carrie is a senior in high school this year. She is very active in her youth group at church and is raising money to go to Africa this summer. She also works at the resort as a snowboard instructor.

Michael is in the 9th grade. He has really grown this year! He plays the piano as well as the guitar and is also learning to play the percussion instruments. He played football this year and is a good student.
